It's quite the challenge these days to secure a Professional model from an AD; my latest purchase required a keen eye and a strong purchase history, but even then, I had to resort to the grey market for a timely acquisition. I've learned to adjust the time on my Rolex meticulously, only when necessary, as the mechanical accuracy is surprisingly resilient for up to a couple of days off the wrist.
I'm caught in a pickle between waiting two years to buy a Rolex from an authorized dealer and paying 30% more on the grey market today. The phrase "how long does a Rolex last without movement" is crucial to me, as I'm after a watch with a substantial power reserve. While optimized winding techniques can help, the design limits seem to persist, and I'm not sure if I can trust the grey market for something so delicate. What would you guys recommend? I'm leaning towards the grey market for the immediate gratification, but the AD option has this allure of authenticity and longer-lasting performance. Help!
